Last week we celebrated a very special day here in China. On March 30—or, on the Chinese Lunar calendar, March 3—we observed a three day public holiday to honor the birth date of the ancient emperor XuanYuan. The celebration spreads all across thte Guangxi region, meaning people living up and down the Li River stopped working to spend time with friends and family.
XuanYuan is a mythical hero in Chinese history. It's so fun to imagine what life must have been like thousands of years ago when he reigned!
