Li River and Husband Hill
When in Guilin, travelling down the Li River is a must. The beautiful landscapes are one of China’s top attractions. From green hills, crystal waters, caves and amazing rocks carved out by nature’s hands - any traveller will appreciate these breathtaking views.
The Li River cuts through the hills of Southeast China, winding through the countryside for over 426 km. Along the scenic route, you’ll see farmers working the rice terraces wearing traditional, conical bamboo hats - a setting often captured in classic Chinese scroll paintings.
A great vantage point to take in the view is from Husband Hill, also known as Wangfu Rock. The hill gets its name from its unique shape - a silhouette of a woman carrying a child, waiting for her husband’s return. Do you see it?
Travel Tip: Best time to visit the Li River is February-May.
